     Betsey Sears died in October 1864 in Derby, New Haven County, Connecticut, at age 76; accidental fall.1

     Aaron Artwater Hughes was born on 20 January 1797 in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of Daniel Hughes and Sarah Atwater.1 In the 1800 census in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, Aaron Artwater Hughes is assumed to be enumerated with Daniel Hughes.3 In the 1810 census in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut, Aaron Artwater Hughes is assumed to be enumerated with Daniel Hughes.4 Aaron Artwater Hughes survived the death of his mother, Sarah Atwater, who died on 14 January 1817 in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. In the 1820 census in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, Aaron Artwater Hughes is assumed to be enumerated with Daniel Hughes.5

     Aaron Artwater Hughes married Lydia Caroline Tuttle, daughter of Josiah Tuttle, on 20 January 1822 in East Haven, Connecticut.6

     Aaron Artwater Hughes died on 14 July 1833 in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, at age 36 of dropsy. He possessed a high order of ability, and inherited largely the prominent family traits of character. Was warm-hearted, open-handed, genial and kind in his nature, and hospitable to all; possessing that love of kindness which springs from the finer emotions of the heart.7,2

     Collins Hughes was born on 24 January 1798 in East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Collins Hughes and Abigail Bradley.1 In the 1810 census in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut, Collins Hughes is assumed to be enumerated with Collins Hughes.2

     Collins Hughes died in July 1815 at age 17. He was lost at sea. He sailed July 25, 1815, in the brig Eliza, from new Haven for Turk's Island, West Indies. The vessel was spoken when three days out; was never heard from afterwards, and was supposed to have foundered at sea from the shifting of her ballast.1,3
