James G. Scott was also known as James F. Scott.1

James G. Scott was born on 26 November 1831 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Scott II and Mary Foster.3,1,4 In the Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio, census dated 26 July 1850, James G. Scott, shown as (an unknown value), is listed in the household of John Scott II. He is 17 years old, a farmer, and was born in Ohio. Jas Scott.5 In the Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio, census dated 26 July 1850, James G. Scott, shown as (an unknown value), is listed in the household of John Scott II. He is 17 years old, a farmer, and was born in Ohio. Jas Scott.5 James G. Scott was mentioned in the will of John Scott II dated on 14 October 1858 Carroll County, Ohio, [MO]; He leaves 1/3 of the farm to his wife Elizabeth that they now reside in and includes the orchard and all the buildings, the kitchen furniture with one years provision. To his children Mary Scott, Charles, William, Jane Elizabeth, Elizanor, John, Arthur, and Ruth, he left each $100. William and Jane Elizabeth's money will be held in trust. His son Crafford R. Scott and his wife are executors. He also names Crafford R., Major, Thomas, James G. Scott, as heirs from first marriage for a total of 12 children heirs and his wife.6 In the Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio, census dated 26 June 1860, James G. Scott, shown as Jas Scott, is listed in the household of John Scott. This householdis believed to be the household of John Scott who died in 1858. However this John's third wife and their three children are not listed. It is an assumption due to his age, birth location, and being unable to find him in a census, that this is the correct John Scott. An unknow John Scott, age 17 and an unknown G. B. Scott, age 8 are also living with them. Perhaps John Scott, age 17, is really the John Scott, age 9. If this is James then he is listed as 29 years old and was born in Ohio.7 James G. Scott was living at Kansas at the death of his brother, Thomas Scott on 8 September 1897.8 In 1918, James was living in Waterville, Marshall County, Kansas.9
