She is 49 years old, born in Pennsylvania, and can not read or write.9 As of 1858, Mary Catherine Davis also went by the name of Polly Holt Her name shows up as Polly in 1858 in probate records and then again in the 1870 census.10,11 Reminder - Pick a Role; She is 29 years old and was born in Kentucky.      Eliphaz's youngest child, had this to say about Eliphaz. "Eliphaz only had the name, Eliphaz - no middle name. He had quite a lot of money for the time he lived in, but I don't think he ever had one dollar on deposit in any bank in his life. He always thought gold money was the safest kind and when he would get any gold money, he would try to keep it and he kept it in a tin box, and that box was buried in the dirt under a barrel of salt in the smoke house. AT the time of his death, he owned 525 acres of land and it was all clear and belonged to him and had lots of money. He worked hard all his life and passed away in his early seventies. I have it that he was about the greatest Dad that ever lived. He did not care about music, but he bought me the prettiest organ I ever saw, and when I got out of bed, after being there eight weeks, with sickness, he came and paid my doctor's bill and never whimpered. Julia Ann, his wife and my mother, was his equal in every way."19
