A short time after he finished his apprenticeship training, he married.

Nathaniel Foote was born circa 1592/93 in Shalford, Colchester, Essex County, England. He was the son of Robert Foote and Joane Brooke.1

Nathaniel Foote married Elizabeth Deming, daughter of John Deming, circa 1614/15 in England.2

Nathaniel Foote died circa 1643/44 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.2

The family of Nathanile Foote shared largely in the perils and suffereings experienced so generally by the early settlers in the valley of the Connecticut, at the hands of the Indiana. In no part of New England were the Indians so numerous. Hannah Dickenson's husband, Samuel Gillett died at the "Falls Fight," the great fight with the Indiana at Turner's Falls, on the Connecticut River, May 19, 1676. Hannah was the eldest chldren of Frances Foote, daughter of Nathaniel Foote, and John Dickenson. Hannah, married Stephen Jennings a year later, and shortly thereafter was captured by the Indians and carried to Canada. She returned in 1678. Hence, a daughter born soon after her return, was very appropriately named "Captivity." In 1710, Stephen Jennings and five others were working in the meadow and were killed by Indians. Sarah Dickenson, another daughter of John Dickenson, married Martin Kellogg. Martin Kellogg and four of his children were captured and taken to Canada in 1704. Sarah escaped. One of their daughters, Joanna Kellogg, remained with the Indians, married to an Indian chief. Samuel Foote was married to Mary Merrick in 1671. They had eight children. His wife and two children were crried away by the Indiana in 177, but were all subsequently restored. Samuel Foote was slain at Deerfield, in the meadow Febraury 29, 1703-4.3
