He is 23 years old, a farmer, and was born in Ohio. His real estate is valued at $500.5

Champion married Nancy Ann Hughes, daughter of Henry Hughes and Nancy Thomas, on 2 October 1853.3 After 2 October 1853, Andrew moved to Bedford, Calhoun County, Michigan.1 In the census of 13 July 1860 at Crane Township, Paudling County, Ohio, Andrew J. Champion, shown as Andrews J. Champion, appears as a head of household which includes the following household members; Ann N. Champion, Flora Champion, Andre L. Hughes, Nancy A. Hughes and Albert Hughes. He is 30 years old, a school teacher, and was born in Ohio. His real estate is valued at $1500 and his personal estate at $250. Also living with him is an Albert Hughes, age six.4 In the census of 29 July 1870 in Carryall Township, Paulding County, Ohio, Andrew J. Champion, shown as Andrew Champion, is listed as the head of household which included the following household members; Nancy A. Champion, Flora E. Champion, Elmer E. Champion, George F. She is 15 years old, attended school, and was born in school.4

     Eliza Priscilla Hughes died on 5 February 1851 at age 17.2 She never married.
